Description
Melaleuca calycina is a shrub growing to 3 m tall. The leaves are oval and grow 5mm to 12 mm long and 3mm to 6 mm wide. The plant flowers in winter and spring from July to October. The flowers are white or cream and produced singly or in small clusters. The fruit capsules are about 5 mm long.

Habitat
moist areas on coastal plains, mallee, edges of swamps

Distribution
Melaleuca calycina is found in south west of Western Australia from about the Stirling Rangel to Cape Arid.
