Common Name
Zig-zag Wattle

Description
The Zig-zag Wattle is a shrub or tree growing 3 m to 5 m tall. The Zig-zag name is derived from its zig-zag stem shape. The phyllodes are long and narrow, growing 13 cm to 25 cm long and 1 to 2.5 cm wide. Flowering period is short between winter and early spring (from July to September) It produces dense sprays of up to 15 bright yellow spherical flower heads. The flower heads are globular about 10 mm across, each containing 35 - 50 flowers. The seed pods are about 12 cm long and about 5 mm wide. The brown seeds are about 4 mm long.

Habitat
Found in woodland, vine thicket, near creeks in stony soil and sandy soil.

Distribution
Zig-zag Wattle is native to eastern Queensland.
