Umbrella Mulga

Turpentine Mulga, False Bowgada

Description
The Umbrella Mulga is a tall bushy shrub growing to 5 m tall. The grey-green phyllodes are long and narrow growing up to 18 cm long and up to 3 mm wide. The flowers are yellow, and produced in cylindrical clusters about two cm long. The flowers are produced in spring and winter and sporadically at other times of the year. The seed pods are long and straight, up to 12 cm long and 8 mm wide.

Habitat
Grows in mulga, heathland on sandhills and rocky ridges. on sandy soils or stony soils.

Distribution
Umbrella Mulga is found in inland areas of all mainland states of Australia, except Victoria.
