Common Name
Tantoon

Description
Tantoon is a shrub or tree growing to 6 m tall. The leaves are narrow and grow to 2 cm long and up to 5 mm wide. Flowers are produced in spring and summer from August to January. The flowers are white (sometimes cream to pale pink) with 5 petals and about 10 mm to 15 mm in diameter. The fruit capsules are about 7 mm in diameter. There are six named subspecies.

Habitat
variety of habitats including woodland, heathland, mountainous areas, coastal swamps, along waterways

Distribution
Tantoon is found in eastern Queensland, eastern New South Wales, eastern Victoria and also Lord Howe Island.
