Description Eucalyptus leucoxylon subsp. megalocarpa is a relatively small tree with red flowers and large fruit is often available under the horticultural name, 'Rosea'. It is a tree to 10 m. Juvenile leaves sessile, ovate to broadly lanceolate, green. Adult leaves: lamina 10-15 cm long, 2-2.5 cm wide, green; lateral veins clearly visible, at 20° -35° ; petiole 15-23 mm long. Peduncle 10-18 mm long; pedicels 8-17 mm long. Buds ovoid, rostrate, smooth; operculum 5-8 mm long, c. 6 mm wide; hypanthium 6-9 mm long, 7-8 mm wide. Fruits ovoid to subglobular, 11-18 mm long, 10-16 mm wide.
Habitat Grows in calcareous soil.
Distribution Occurs in coastal areas from the far south-east of South Australia to far western Victoria.
