Common Name
Mountain Bottlebrush

Description
Mountain Bottlebrush is a shrub or small tree growing to 6 m tall. The leaves are flat, narrow oval with the widest portion nearer the pointed tip, growing 5 cm to 10 cm long, 6mm to 11 mm wide. New growth is pinkish. The flowers are bright red or crimson and produced in bottlebrush spikes, about 3 cm to 5 cm long and 2 cm to 6 cm in diameter. Flowering is in xxx from xx. The fruit are woody capsules about 8 mm long. The plant is also known as Melaleuca montana.

Distribution
Mountain Bottlebrush is found in the Border Ranges area near the Queensland and New South Wales border.
