Description Lesser Bottlebrush is a shrub or small tree growing to 6 m tall. The leaves are blue-green, flat and linear growing 3 cm to 7 cm long. The flowers are red or scarlet and produced in bottlebrush spikes, about 10 cm to 15 cm long and 5 cm to 6 cm in diameter. Flowering is mainly in spring and summer from October to January. The fruit are woody capsules about 4 cm to 6 mm long. The plant is also known as Melaleuca phoenicea.
Habitat sandy soils, often along rivers and creeks
Distribution Lesser Bottlebrush is found in south west Western Australia.
