Description Coarse Banksia is a shrub growing to about 1.5 metres in height. It has coarse narrow leaves growing to 12cm long but only 3mm wide. Although the leaves are narrow they are quite thick and fleshy from upper surface top lower surface. It produces reddish brown spikes of flowers in autumn and winter. flower spikes are about 7 cm tall and about 9 cm in diameter. The old flower spikes develop into woody clusters. The plant has a lignotuber that can regenerate new growth after damage by bush fire.
Habitat grows on sandy soils on heathland and shrubland
Distribution Coarse Banksia is found on the western coast of Western Australia between Perth and Geraldton.
